Kindergarten Readiness

Kindergarten Resources for Parents

Be your child’s first and best teacher with SPARK at Action for Children! This program is focused on ensuring children and families have the skills they need to have a positive experience in kindergarten and beyond.

What Is SPARK?

How the Program Works

SPARK, which stands for Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids, is a family-focused kindergarten readiness home-visiting program that works collaboratively with families, schools and the community. SPARK at Action for Children helps families in Franklin County get their 3- and 4-year olds ready for kindergarten by building reading, math, and social skills!

What the SPARK Program Includes

Our free, in-home services include visits in the comfort of your home or a location of your choice with a SPARK Parent Partner who will guide you in creating a seamless transition into school for you and your child. SPARK at Action for Children includes:

  1. FREE storybooks and activities

  2. School-readiness lessons based on Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards

  3. Connections to community resources
