Mothers Matter Story: TaNeda

05/13/24

In the spirit of Mother’s Day, Action for Children believes it is very important to shine a light on the mothers and mother figures who nurture and care for young children. TaNeda, a participant in the Mothers Matter program, stands as inspiration amidst life’s challenges.

When faced with daunting obstacles, TaNeda didn’t hesitate to seek support. Recognizing the need to enhance her parenting skills and meet court-mandated program requirements, she turned to Arla Lyles, the Mothers Matter Coordinator. With unbelievable dedication, Arla provided TaNeda with personalized one-on-one coaching, offering the guidance and encouragement she needed to navigate her journey.

Despite encountering initial setbacks, TaNeda’s determination remained. Together, both Arla and TaNeda worked together to ensure TaNeda met deadlines and fully engaged with the Mothers Matter program.

TaNeda’s growth throughout her journey was nothing short of remarkable. Her commitment to personal development not only transformed her own life but also had a ripple effect, positively impacting her family. Through the nurturing partnership between TaNeda and Arla, she gained confidence and skills that will last a lifetime.

In TaNeda’s own words, “Parenting is not always easy. And sometimes it is as simple as going back and using the parenting tools that the Mothers Matter program has taught me.” This sentiment captures the essence of her journey—a testament to the transformative power of education and support.

TaNeda reminds us of the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the tireless efforts of mothers everywhere. “Sometimes as mothers, we do not pat ourselves on our back, and we really should for all that we do,” she reflects. Her words resonate deeply, serving as a reminder of the immense sacrifices and contributions made by mothers every day.

As we honor mothers and mother figures this Mother’s Day, let us not only celebrate their love and selflessness but also recognize and uplift stories like TaNeda’s—stories of resilience, growth, and the unwavering power of maternal determination. Through their journeys, we find inspiration and hope for a brighter future.
