Meet the Leadership Team: Natalie Atkins

07/16/24

“Who are you and what are you doing here?” is a time-honored question at Action for Children that reflects our culture of curiosity and passion for what we do. To get to know the team that’s driving the work forward at Action for Children, we’re turning the question around on our Leadership Team!

Who are you and what are you doing here?

I have the honor of serving as the Director of Organizational Advancement; which means I get to tell the Action for Children story and the impact our organization has in our communities to our external partners, by leading efforts in development, marketing and communications, advocacy and strategy.

How did you get here?

I’ve always had a passion for community service and when I moved to Columbus from Toledo, I wanted to be involved in the community I was working and living in. I joined the board at St. Stephen’s Community House and I loved it so much that I left my corporate job and became the Director of Marketing and Development. I was there for four wonderful years, until AFC scooped me up and here I am today!

What excites you about your role?

Having the opportunity to share our mission and the impact our programs have across the seven counties we serve brings me a lot of joy. I’m reminded every day that our work is vital, and the people who make it happen are rock stars.

What do you want people to know about Action for Children?

Action for Children is an important part in the child care puzzle. It bridges the gap between parents, guardians, caregivers and educators – all parts are vital to ensure the workforce of today and tomorrow are ready and able to do the next and best thing.
