Child Care Business Partnerships

A Solution for Working Families

At Action for Children (AFC), we understand the challenges working families face when it comes to affordable and reliable child care. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our Child Care Business Partnerships program—designed to support businesses, families, and communities by making child care more accessible for working parents.

Through a grant awarded to Action for Children by the Department of Children and Youth, we are launching a short-term child care cost-sharing program that connects local businesses and child care programs to offset the costs of child care for parents in the workforce. Our goal is to help your business implement child care benefits that enhance employee retention, productivity, and satisfaction—all while contributing to the well-being of the community and providing children the benefits of high-quality early learning experiences.

Child Care Business Partnerships at Action for Children is funded for businesses located in Franklin and Licking Counties. Interested in implementing a similar program in your area? Contact us for more details!

Why Offer Child Care Benefits?

Working parents are increasingly prioritizing child care support over other benefits, including unlimited remote work and flexible hours. In fact, 46% of parents say help paying for child care tops their wish list of benefits. By offering child care benefits, your business can:

  • Improve employee retention and loyalty

  • Attract top talent in a competitive market

  • Increase productivity as parents have peace of mind knowing their children are cared for

How We Help You Build Child Care Benefits

AFC’s Child Care Business Partnerships program allows businesses to create customized child care benefits that meet the unique needs of their employees. There are several options for businesses looking to support their workforce:

  1. Child Care Stipends or Scholarships: Provide employees with stipends or scholarships to supplement child care costs. You can offer weekly or monthly stipends, create scholarship funds for long-term employees, or even cover one-time child care enrollment fees.

  2. Dedicated Child Care Slots: Work with local child care programs to reserve spaces for your employees. AFC will help you build connections with high-quality child care providers in your area to ensure your employees have access to reliable care.

  3. Custom Benefit Plans: Our team of experts will work with you to design a plan that fits your business model and the specific needs of your employees. We provide guidance every step of the way, making it easier for you to implement these benefits.

Ohio’s Support for Your Business

With Ohio’s Child Care Business Partnerships program, we’re offering financial support to make implementing child care benefits even easier. For the next two years, your business can receive up to $150,000 in partnership awards to subsidize the cost of creating and maintaining child care benefits for your employees. This means you can help solve the child care challenge in your community while gaining a return on your investment through improved employee performance and retention.
